Katiki Point Adventure

Finally I’m back in New Zealand and off on more adventures with my boyfriend Ash. Not that adventuring in the U.K wasn’t fun but journeys are always better when you can share them with someone else!

So off we went to check out a local place called Katiki Point, which is about an hour north of Dunedin. Here in NZ we are lucky enough to have incredible wildlife on our doorsteps, and people go a long way to keep them safe but also so we can see the animals in their natural habitats and at Katiki Point you can see Yellow Eyed Penguin/Hoiho and lots of seals! (Which I am actually scared of so I wasn’t too keen on them).

As you can see it was beautiful April day, we’re getting into Autumn now, so we have to take full advantage of all the sunny days!
We walked down the track to the penguin viewing point and looked out over the coastline at the wildlife and calm Pacific Ocean.
Back up the track we turned left and wandered down the point where we could look right out over Shag Point. I’ve lived in this area for my whole life and don’t think I’ve been here; it’s a beautiful place and I really recommend coming to check it out if you ever get the chance. If you want to see the Penguins, come around 5:30pm as thats when they go into their houses at night, but you have to leave the place at 6pm for yours and the wildlife’s safety.

Ash and I filmed our adventure and it’s up on YouTube if you want to check it out! Thanks so much for reading as always and have fun on your own adventures!
